Welcome to our online Grandparents Class!
As more and more parents are waiting until they're older to start having children, the gap between generations is growing. Today, we have more research and information at our fingertips and a lot of things have changed in health care and safety recommendations when it comes to caring for babies. We will bring new Grandparents up to date with the changing standards of infant care so they can best support you in caring for their grandchildren! Take this class in the comfort of your home, from anywhere!
Your Instructor
I live in Calgary, Alberta with my wonderful husband and two children. As a child I dreamed of becoming a healer and working with people to improve their daily lives. I studied sciences in university and worked in the telecom industry to support myself. I always felt drawn to follow my heart and intuition. In 2012, after having my son I struggled to find a good support system and often felt isolated and alone. I struggled with breastfeeding and postpartum anxiety. It was in my journey back to health that I was inspired to find a better way to bridge the gap between pregnancy and parenthood.
I am an active member of the Calgary Doula Association, a DONA Certified Postpartum Doula, a Certified Lactation Educator and a Stillbirthday Birth & Bereavement Doula. I also trained and certified with the Pacific Post Partum Support Society on counselling moms who suffer from postpartum depression and anxiety. I strive to stay up to date with the most current research and information. I focus on continuously educating myself, attending workshops and courses on babies, breastfeeding, perinatal mood disorders and childbirth. Sacred Nest has a vast lending library that continues to grow on these topics.
